Leave the Future to God

God doesn’t give us all the details. But that’s part of us allowing Him to be God in our lives – allowing Him to take care of the details. God hasn’t got a bunch of scorpions up His sleeve waiting to drop them on you as soon as the ink is dry on the contract. No, just the reverse. (1 Cor 2:9-10 NIV) However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"-- but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. Will you give God a blank check? Will you follow Him wherever He leads you? Will you walk by the light that you have right now, and leave the future up to God?

INVITATION

Some people have to have everything figured out before they will step into a situation where they feel like they might get burned. They have to know every detail, have every base covered, have the whole thing mapped out. But God doesn’t operate that way. First, you trust Him. Then, He will show Himself to you. If the Israelites had known God’s strategy for getting them into the land – parting the Jordan River just as He had parted the Red Sea - and defeating their first enemy – marching around the city in silence and watching the walls fall down from the inside out, they might have said, “NOT INTERESTED.” But they followed God, and God did it.

A NEW DIRECTION.

We must see ourselves as Jesus Sees us (through the word)

When it was time for Elijah to ascend into heaven he asked his faithful servant what he desired from him: Elisha said I want a double portion anointing, (a double portion of thy spirit) Elijah said you have asked a hard thing, but if you see me when I go it shall be so unto you, but if you don't you won't get it.

In other words Elijah was saying: This is all about spiritual perception, you have to be able to see it with your spirit.

As the whirlwind of fire and fiery chariot and horses separated the two of them, Elijah went up into the heavens and the Bible said (Elisha saw it). The Bible was making specific reference to the fact that Elisha had stepped over into that spiritual dimension where he saw into the supernatural. Then Elijah's mantle fell to the earth, and
Elisha picked it up and started walking in a double portion anointing.

Faith is the hand that reaches out and takes hold of the blessings of God, but it is the Word of God that quickens the hand of faith. "Stretch forth thy hand," was Jesus’ command to the man with the withered hand; and at his word faith came alive.

Elisha passed to Shunem where there was a great woman.

Elisha represents the Presence of God, and the Power of God, and consequently every good thing you can receive from God. Miracles are coming toward you and passing by you every day. Restoration is coming your way; financial breakthrough is coming your way; salvation for your house is coming your way.

BLESSINGS BRING IT ON

God’s blessing aren’t limited to any particular demographic—If you are from the city, God will bless you, if you are from the country, God will bless you. He basically gives this promise, no matter where you are or where you have come from, God’s ability to bless is still the same. Whether you are a·Mechanic, C.E.O., from a well known family or an unknown family. “ it doesn’t matter who you are, it only matters who He is.”

“Have not I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9, NIV

How comforting it is to know that wherever we go God is there with us. Sometimes we find ourselves in situations and we wonder if God is paying attention. We may feel so alone and even depressed. We can't feel God's presence, and we need His guidance and help.

Sometimes friends, spouses, and parents don't really understand what we are going through. But God does and He cares. God told Joshua to be strong and to have courage. Then He told him a wonderful truth: "The Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Yes, that's right… wherever! We don't have to feel all alone. God is with us. He is working out the problems, and we don't even realize it.

But now...the Lord who created you says: "Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.... From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can oppose what I do. No one can reverse my actions. Isaiah 43:1-3, Isaiah 43:13, NLT

God is with us, leading us, guiding us, loving us, providing for us -- all with His unlimited resources. What do we need? Do we need strength, peace, love, joy, or hope? He has it all. He is longing to pour out His favor and blessing upon us. We need to be open to Him and to trust Him. We need, by faith, to receive what He has for us. It is essential that we realize how much He loves us and that He has a good purpose and plan for us.

YES YOU CAN

MANY OF US HAVE MADE RESOLUTIONS FOR 2018 AND PROBABLY BROKEN THEM ALREADY. SOME OF US HAVE PROMISED TO BECOME A “NEW YOU” BUT ALL WE DID WAS TAKE THE OLD US INTO THE  NEW YEAR BEING THE SAME OLD US.
You see, the Lord was referring to the children of Israel, they had been wondering in the desert for 40 years on the way to the promise land.

And what He was saying to them was, I have something better for you; aren’t you getting tired of the same old thing yet?!

Haven’t you been walking around this wilderness long enough?

Don’t you want experience the change in scenery that I have in store for you,

the promised land that has been waiting for you all this time?

You’ve circled this mountain long enough; turn you northward.

Can you imagine, wondering around in circles, in the desert for 40 years?

As hard as it is to have imagined that happening, it really did happen.

You see, they never sought the change that was necessary for them to experience all that God had in store for them.

Instead of “I am, I can, I will,” it was more like “I’m not, I cant, I won’t.”

There are still people today, just like the children of Israel were, reluctant to make a change in the course of their lives, to experience all of the blessings God has in store for them; blessings so close, that they could throw a stone and hit them!

Like a strong pot of coffee brewing, they could smell it, but not taste it.

The word of the Lord said: you’ve been in this place long enough.

God said it then, and it still holds true today, its time to change your circumstances!

You can, you know, because Gods word says it’s possible.

A NEW DIRECTION – February 2018

God loves us. And because God loves us, He will never do anything that wasn’t for our good. When I signed on the bottom line of my contract “Where he leads me, I will follow”,  I didn’t know all that involved. But I knew enough to know that I can trust God no matter what with my life, my family, my resources and my eternity. I can hand Him a blank check and know that I am in good hands.

All of us sometimes NEED A NEW DIRECTION, WE NEED A NEW AND FRESH ANOINTING TO BE ABLE TO SEE, TO PLAN AND EXECUTE GODS DIVINE PLAN FOR us. GOD WILL NOT REVEAL EVERYTHING but TRUST HE HAS OUR BEST INTEREST AT HEART. A NEW DIRECTION.

Some people have to have everything figured out before they will step into a situation where they feel like they might get burned. They have to know every detail, have every base covered, and have the whole thing mapped out. But God doesn’t operate that way. First, you trust Him. Then, He will show Himself to you. PREPARATION BEFORE FLOURISHING

Jeremiah 29.11-13 (KJV)
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”

God definitely wants us to have a glorious future. But the truth of the matter is to achieve maximum growth we have to persevere through trials and tribulations, not eliminating them. What are you currently going through, right now? In the midst of your challenges, hang on to these verses but for the right reason; God will not take away all of your suffering, but the confidence that God gives in the midst of it.

God’s plans for us may not necessarily line up with our own. However know this, they will be better plans than you or I can imagine. For 2018, write down the following:

  • What is the next step in my ministry?
  • What is the next step in my family?
  • What is the next step for my career?
  • What is the next step in my relationship/ marriage?
  • What is the next step in my education?
  • What is the next step in increasing my finances?
  •
If you do not have a designated time for prayer, start today and begin to reflect on the questions above and write down what you hear God speaking to your heart. GET READY – PREPARATION BEFORE FLOURISHING
